Our Aims at Tiger Tots

See what our Parents say...

To ensure that the children are able to function in a group situation. To be confident and independent. These are the most vital needs before attending school.

To help the children develop skills in talking and listening. To be familiar with and enjoy books. To recognise their own names and to begin to write them. To begin and understand that letters have sounds, and that writing has meaning.

To make the children aware of maths in everyday situations. To practice sorting, matching and comparing and to recognise patterns. To introduce the mathematical names of shapes, such as circle, triangle, and the terms we use to describe position, size and quantity. To use counting regularly, and to begin to familiarise children with written numerals.

To encourage children’s curiosity about the world. To help them observe and explore. To introduce them to technology in model making, recording and through the computer.
To contribute to children’s physical development, by offering opportunities for physical activity, running, climbing, balancing etc. To enable children to learn to use tools appropriately, for example, scissors and writing implements.

To give children the chance to explore their feelings through creative work, using various materials. To enable them to express their responses to the world through drama, music and dance.
